The students in kindergarten through second grade have been very productive becoming authors, illustrators and storytellers in the BLC this month. Visit the BLC Talking Text webpage at http://www.clover.k12.sc.us/Page/9347 to view their projects. Enjoy!
The students in kindergarten have been working hard. They have been forming opinions on the kinds of books they like to read. They have also become authors and illustrators of their own class books.
The students in first grade listened to the story The House that Witchy Built written by Dianne de Las Casas and illustrated by Holly Stone-Barker. This story is a spooktacular read about the meowing, flapping, booing, rattling, and cackling creatures in Witchy’s House! The students then colored pages of the story and acted out the verses. We put them all together to create movies.
The students in second grade have been busy acting out the story, Pumpkin Pulling by Dianne de Las Casas, which is an adapted version of the Russian folktale The Giant Turnip. Students were selected to act out the story while other students took pictures or were live participants in the audience.
